TDANA is the only association in North America dedicated exclusively to transloading. We connect the companies that transfer freight between rail, truck, barge, and port with the railroads, shippers, equipment providers, and service partners that make those movements possible.

Transloading is the business of moving freight from one mode of transportation to another, typically between rail and truck. It is a critical link in the North American supply chain.

Members use TDANA to raise their visibility, build trusted relationships, exchange candid and practical information, and create new business across the continent. If your business touches a transload dock, this is your association.

TDANA began in 1993 as the Transload Distribution Association, organized by Gary Schlaeger, a retired Burlington Northern officer who led that railroad's transload initiative, with Patricia Schlaeger bringing together transload operators on the Class I railroads as its charter members. As membership grew across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the association adopted the name Transload Distribution Association of North America in 2015.
